Import, review, match and prepare a quotation with human selection
A development prototype connecting BOQ review, product catalogues, pricing requests and offer documents for construction quotations.
Preparing a construction quotation starts with a bill of quantities, but the source document is not yet a priced offer. Items need to be reviewed, matched to catalogue products and priced with the relevant margins. The final document must remain connected to those choices.
APS explores this workflow in a development prototype. It brings the BOQ, product catalogue, price request and resulting offer together, with a reviewer responsible for accepting product matches and checking the final quotation.
APS: BOQ and quotation prototype: interface 1
The workflow starts with a price request containing project details and BOQ items. Products are maintained in a catalogue with categories, suppliers, units and pricing fields. Items can then be associated with suitable products while the reviewer checks the selection and quantities.
The offer workspace brings the selected products and prices together. It supports following the request into its offer, reviewing line items and preparing the output document. Catalogue suggestions assist the review; they do not replace the engineering or commercial decision.
The prototype also includes product import and export, user roles and a dashboard linking the main stages. It demonstrates the workflow without claiming a measured reduction in preparation time or error rate.
